Before boys, Valentine's Day used to be my favorite school holiday. Actually any holiday with copious amounts of sugar is MY kind of holiday. Because please, what would halloween be without candy? What would the 4th of July be without pie? All of the holidays we hold near and dear to our hearts are the ones where we have a "love knows no bounds" approach to sugar.
Which is why I eat 3 slices of pie on Thanksgiving (duh)

Is it just me or, as the mornings get earlier, the longer the day seems to go? And I mean that is a good thing, because it is no longer dark out when I walk to the gym (and therefore, the risk that I tumble down stairs drops dramatically). I'm just holding out hope for Daylight Savings Time (because as a food blogger, I am a slave to the natural light. You feel me? Good. Hope your weekend is Fab.U.Los! I have a lot of feelings around these tacos Actually I have a lot of feelings about tacos in general. My family always had a taco night growing up (it was Wednesday. Go figure). We normally stuck to some ground turkey with lettuce and tomato deal. To this day, although I don't eat meat, I can say that my dad concocted the best spice blend known to men to flavor the taco meat. It was so good that I could eat it for days on top of tortillas chips. Scooped out of the fridge. Cold. Wait I actually still do that.
Somethings never change. Hi ya friends. Happy Friday! Are you excited for the weekend?
I'm heading home this week/partaking in all things stew-y because SUPER BOWL! I love football and so there's nothing better than snuggling up to a big bowl of guac and watching commercials/the game, ya feel? Who are you rooting for? My cousins are from Charlotte, plus Cam Newton is adorbs, so I naturally feel like the Panthers are my team of choice. Also, praying I can actually get home because of the spontaneous snowfall that has occurred outside. I will rally though! Valentine's Day is the best worst holiday ever. Now hold up, I know what you're thinking: Sarah that is silly because you honestly have to pick one side. Well, while I do not really feel comfortable with the idea of dedicating one day to professing your love to one (I'm more a love your person all the time kind of person), I am all about the commercial availability of copious amounts of chocolate. Valentine's Day, in my experience is the most polarizing holiday known to man. People either love it or they hate it (and it might have something to do with being single or taken)
Correlation? You better believe it. And now you've seen me in my "day job" element. |
